How UzhNU celebrated the Knowledge Day (PHOTOS)

The largest university of the region - UzhNU - celebrated the Knowledge Day too. The Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Ivan Baloha came to congratulate the freshmen.

The Rector of UzhNU Volodymyr Smolanka first of all congratulated freshmen on becoming students of the oldest and largest university in Transcarpathia. Now, almost 15 thousand students study here, this year, more than 1,500 students enetred the university. UzhNU is among the top ten educational establishments in the country.   UzhNU cooperates with more than 40 higher education institutions worldwide.

         "You start learning in a very important year in the history of our country. The Dignity Revolution won in our country with active participation of our students.   But the process of winning the independence is not over. We are again fighting for our independence, fighting with an external aggressor continues in the east. We will never forget those who gave their lives on the Maidan, those who are now defending us. I am sure that you will become true patriots of Ukraine" - the Rector Volodymyr Smolanka addressed the freshmen.

 The regional council chairman Ivan Baloha also addressed the students. "Today you have a great event. You are entering into adult life, and you are the ones who will build the Ukrainian state.  This is a great, advanced educational institution of the region and Western Ukraine.  We must make all efforts to continue developing it. Much has already been done - new library, new faculties, a swimming pool.   Be better than us, build and develop our Ukraine" - Ivan Baloha welcomed the new students of UzhNU.

After that, students took the oath of a freshman.
