A 42-year-old resident of Rakhiv was killed near Ilovaysk

On August 25, in the battle for Ilovaysk (Donetsk region), a soldier of the 51st Mechanized Brigade (Volodymyr-Volynsky), a resident Rakhiv Mykhailo Marfych was killed.

The 3rd battalion of the brigade was surrounded near settlements of Berezne, Olenivka, under constant shelling. During tank and artillery attacks of Russian fighters near Ilovaysk and Starobeshevo and shelling by MLRS "Grad" on 25-26 of August, dozens of soldiers of the 51st brigade were captured and killed.

This information appeared on the special page of Wikipedia "Losses of army as a result of the Russian invasion to Ukraine (2014)", it is unofficially confirmed at the local military commissariat. Currently, the district has not received documentary evidence of the death of the soldier, but we know that he is already being transported to Rakhiv.

Back on August 29, the soldier was listed in the list of missing soldiers. In Facebook, the community activist Natalia Sokolova published lists of soldiers of the 51st Brigade, who may be wounded and stay in hospitals, as well prisoners - the newspaper Novyny Rakhova wrote.

This is the third loss for Rakhiv district in the war in the east of Ukraine. Thus, on July 4, as a result of rocket and artillery bombardment of a block-post in the ATO area, Oleksiy Kalyniuk, originally from the city of Rakhiv, who was serving in the military unit A 1778 in Uzhgorod, was killed. August 14, at night, during the battles near Luhansk a soldier of the 24th Mechanized Brigade (Yavoriv) Vasyl Martyniuk was killed.
