Transcarpathians want to restore the inscription "PEACE" on the Kapuna mountain

The Mount Kapuna is the pride of not only the village of Ruske Pole but the whole Tyachiv district. It is well known to residents of the region and tourists thanks to the original inscription "PEACE" made with trees planted on the hillside, which is well visible from the road Uzhgorod-Rakhiv.

However, in recent years, the greenery has not been properly taken care of, so some letters are difficult to distinguish. This shortcoming was pointed out by the head of Tyachiv district administration Petro Holubka, who took the initiative to restore it.

- It's a shame that today, when in view of the events in Eastern Ukraine, the word "PEACE" has gained particular relevance, the inscription can not be read. So its renewal is an expression of patriotism and peaceful character of the people og Tyachiv district - Petro Holubka said.

In order to make this idea into reality, this week the head of the district held a meeting with heads of local forestries. Together, they determined the volume of works and decided on the species of plants to be restored. In general, there will be different trees, but the "Red Oak" will be the basic kind.

They plan to begin the restoration of the letters, that is planting of trees, this autumn.
