"Solotvyno block" in Tereblya may get a chance to come to life (+ PHOTOS)
On Thursday, October 23, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal paid a working visit to Tyachiv district. The aim was to find out the problems of the district, but above all - to see the residential block in the village of Tereblya, which was built for the resettlement of people from the emergency area in Solotvyno.
Although the object (residential neighborhood with a school and a kindergarten) was put into operation almost a year ago, no more than ten families are living there now.
The "Solotvyno block" is designed for resettlement of 133 families - those whose houses have suffered from landslides in Solotvyno or are under greatest threat. About 40 people have received the keys to the homes, but on the whole, the settlement is empty.
The head of the region together with the local authorities visited the neighborhood, above all, the school, which enrolls 256 students (only 5 of them are from Solotvyno), the kindergarten and houses. While the state of the school is more than satisfactory, the kindergarten needs attention: it still has not enrolled children, although there are already applications from parents. One of the problems is water .Water supply that has been arranged here does not meet the requirements: there is not enough water and its quality is poor. Additional 1,080,000 UAH from the reserve fund of the regional budget was allocated to build a new network, the work is to be completed within two weeks. Vasyl Hubal took that issue under control and ordered to open the kindergarten as soon as there is quality water supply.
Then, the head of the RSA examined houses, complaining that they have been vacant for months, although they could already be lived in. At the meeting on the fate of the "Solotvyno block", Vasyl Hubal told the audience: it is not clear why there has been no progress, why the authorities have not talked with potential setllers, have not dealt with this issue. "Now, having received this matter, so to speak, as an inheritance, we must work and intensify the process. And we must do it as soon as possible." The head of the region ordered to study this issue in detail by December 15 and to decide what to do with the settlement. "We will put the question squarely and will decide how to deal with this object. But letting the neighborhood dilapidate like that is not an economic approach", - Vasyl Hubal said.
