Serhiy Moshak: “The new state, we are building now, needs a nation that is strong in spirit and body”

At a time when the war has been raging in Ukraine for more than six months, of course, all the attention and all the forces of the society are focused on overcoming the military conflict and restoring peace. In this difficult period, it is extremely difficult to develop the country, but at least our citizens remain calm and try to live everyday life.

Almost every week, campaigns, tournaments, bicycle rides and a variety of sport events take place in Transcarpathia. Over the past three years, the sports culture in the region has gained rapid development. It should be noted that the financing of physical training has increased by almost 27 percent, but even these funds are certainly not enough to improve the sports infrastructure of the region.  Sport in Transcarpathia is developing thanks to donors who give their own funds to support physical training. Deputy and the Vice-President of Tennis Federation of Ukraine Serhiy Moshak supports more than a dozen sports in Transcarpathia. This includes financing of trips, purchase of a wide range of equipment, provision of vehicles, material support of coaches and teams.  "Sports is not only health and proper lifestyle. It is, first of all, an important contribution to future generation. The new state, we are building now, needs a nation that is strong in spirit and body. Although my prerogative is tennis and football, but I care about any sport that exists in Transcarpathia. I am proud that in June this year, together we managed to organize the first fingerboarding championship of Ukraine in Uzhgorod. Also, such new for Transcarpathia sports as rugby, American football, frisbee, cheerleading, netball, are well developing in our region. Young athletes show good results and I am very pleased" – the deputy said.
