Queues on the border with Hungary may increase

The Police of Hungary warned that due the deterioration of weather condition and the long weekend due to the celebration of the All Saints' Day, the traffic congestion may increase, and the wait at the checkpoints on the border with Ukraine will be longer.

In particular, at the checkpoint "Zahony-Chop", the passenger traffic is expected to increase significantly on Sunday. The waiting time at the border may reach 60 to 120 minutes. Traffic will be particularly heavy from 29 to 31 of October.

As for trucks, the wait time may even exceed two hours.

You can cross the border much faster through the checkpoint "Beregsurany-Luzhanka" - within 30-60 minutes. However, trucks are not allowed there.

Accordingly, for passenger cars alternative routes are recommend - through the checkpoint "Barabas-Kosyno" (open from 8.00 to 20.00), as well as "Lonya-Horonhlab (Dzvinkove)" working from 9.00 to 17.00. The waiting time at the border is up to 30 minutes.
