Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the illegal mining of gravel

The criminal proceeding has been initiated over the illegal mining of gravel in the village of Vilkhivtsi in Tyachiv district.

October 9th, Tyachiv District Prosecutor forwarded to the District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region the materials for registration of uncontrolled gravel intake on the Teresva river in the URPI.

According to Tyachiv district prosecutor Maxim Kirichuk, currently, the pre-trial criminal proceeding over this fact has already begun under Part 2 of Art. 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal mining).

The course of the preliminary investigation is under the control of the district prosecutor’s office.

The sanction of Part 2 of Art. 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for punishment in the form of a fine in amount of four hundred to seven hundred tax-free minimum incomes, or restraint of liberty for a term of up to three years, or imprisonment for the same term.
