In Volovets district, schools in winter will be heated with solid fuel boilers (PHOTOS)

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal ordered officials of Volovets district to develop budgets and arrange boiler rooms according to new requirements as soon as possible.

On Thursday, October 9, the head of the region had the first working trip to districts: the visiting expanded meeting took place in Volovets district to find out the problems of its inhabitants.

First of all, the head of the region visited Nyzhni Vorota boarding school. 227 students study and live there, most of whom are on full state support because of difficult family situations. The facility caters to children not only from Volovets, but also from other districts, as well as Lviv region.

Now, the boarding school is preparing for winter. A few years ago they replaced most of the windows with energy saving ones and arranged gas boilers. However, now both the state and the region have to minimize gas consumption. Therefore, in Transcarpathia, they initiated the introduction of alternative heating systems (in this case, it refers to solid fuel boilers that run on wood and its waste).

In Nyzhni Vorota boarding school, the existing system can be converted. The district authorities are seeking finds for this. And the Regional State Administration will help with repairs of the boiler room – it is close to the state of emergency. The head of the region Vasyl Hubal drew the attention to this fact and ordered the principal of the school to prompltly develop the project. The head of the RSA stressed that the estimate must be justified, and the contractors must be responsible, and everything must be done quickly. 

In the secondary school in Nyzhni Vorota, the head of the region had questions about the temperature in classrooms. Therefore, they were mostly talking about heating. In this school, the management of the school together with the district authorities also have to urgently take care of the installation of alternative fuel boilers – "to help" gas devices, because the limits, set for the region and districts, force them to save. The head of the region told local government officials that they should organize the educational process reasonably, on the basis of heating problems, while avoiding unnecessary long "vacations". This applies not only to schools in Nyzhni and Verkhni Vorota, but generally to schools of the region.
