Hungary will help Transcarpathia to implement energy efficiency projects

Today, at the Mukachevo City Council, there was a meeting of regional and city authorities with the State Secretary for International Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs of the Government of Hungary Adam Kovach. The meeting was attended by the head of the Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal, the regional council chairman Ivan Baloha, the first deputy chairman of the regional council Vasyl Brenzovych, the manager of the executive office of the regional council Mykhailo Popovich, Mukachevo mayor Zoltan Lendyel, the Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod Jozsef Bachkayi.

This is the first visit of the State Secretary to Transcarpathia.

At the meeting in Mukachevo, energy conservation was one of the principal issues. The head of the RSA Vasyl Hubal said that he had managed to hold a series of important meetings with Hungarian officials. "I recently had the opportunity to have an active dialogue with the Prime Minister of Hungary. We are very satisfied with the cooperation with Hungarian partners. Within the framework of the Eastern Partnership project, we have repaired many schools and kindergartens in the region. First and foremost, we focus on energy efficiency. It is now very important for our region and country. We hope for the support of friends from Hungary, for implementation of new projects in this area", - Vasyl Hubal said.

The Regional Council Chairman Ivan Baloha, in turn, also praised the results of the cooperation.  After all, only for the last two years, under this program, through co-financing by the Hungarian party, more than 90 projects on energy saving, repairs of social institutions, including schools, pre-schools, health care and culture facilities, have been implemented in Transcarpathia.

You can rely on the support from Hungary in the field of energy efficiency - the State Secretary Adam Kovach said at the meeting. "I saw that in Transcarpathia, energy saving projects are implemented quite effectively. In addition to the Eastern Partnership program, you can expect assistance from programs of national and international development of the Hungarian government. We want to help your land, so that the European quality of life has become a reality here," - Adam Kovach summed up.

After the meeting, the State Secretary and the city officials visited the kindergarten № 17 in Mukachevo, where this year, within the framework of the Eastern Partnership program, old windows and doors were replaced with metal and plastic ones.
