Heroes are at home! How "Green Berets" were welcomed in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)
Night border town of Chop... The evening of October 18: its dark, damp and cool outside... And dozens of inspired faces around. Someone is waiting for a son, someone - for a father, someone - for a beloved husband... And some came just to meet the heroes and shake their hands with gratitude...
"Are you waiting for your husband?" - I ask a beautiful woman with flowers in her hands, standing shivering, looking at the parade.
"I am. Others receive calls... And he cannot call me. He is the driver. I've been waiting here since 19.00. It's OK, they are coming soon" - she says hopefully.
It's 4 minutes into October 19! And accompanied by noisy honks of several cars, our heroes are at home, in Transcarpathian native land!
55 border guards from Chop border guard detachment, who for nearly three months were performing their civic and military duty in the ATO zone, are finally at the home station!
"Green Berets" under the command of Major Ruslan Skotselyas are back with success - without losses and injuries. They fulfilled their civic and constitutional duty and came back alive and healthy. They did not betray the oath to Ukrainian people. They are real men. And we are eternally grateful to them for that!
Those brave men for three months were expiriencing all horrors of war, survived attacks, but completed all tasks with honor and dignity.
And nobody was holding back tears. The joy of meeting was combined with sadness for the fallen colleagues... The head of the Chop border guard detachment Roman Hots told the men bad news: "Our detachment did suffer a loss. The group of "Green Berets" fell into an ambush, two border guards were killed. May they rest in peace. Heroes do not die!" The people observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of the Heroes Victor Shepental and Robert Kis... The flags on the territory of the military unit are at half-mast. Photos of Victor and Robert are at display in the premises.
Our border guards are at home. Now, they will have a leave. They say that if necessary, they will not hesitate to return to the East and will do everything possible to not let the hell of war come to our homes, to the western borders. When you look into their eyes, you believe them, with these defenders there is nothing to be afraid of!
Welcome to your native land, guys! And thank you for your service and courage! May the peace come for all of us!
Glory to Ukraine!
See emotions, moments and faces of the meeting in the photos.
Дякуємо хлопцям за все!
