Chop customs officers found 700 kilograms of contraband tulip bulbs (PHOTOS)
A car "Fiat" arrived at the customs post "Maly Berezny" of the Chop Customs for customs control. It was driven by a citizen of Ukraine, who was going from Slovakia to Ukraine.
At the entrance to the customs control zone, the Ukrainian chose the "green corridor". However, during the control, customs officers carried out in-depth inspection of the car. In the luggage compartment, they found 43 bags of bulbs with a total weight of 700 kg.
As the Ukrainian explained, she had purchased the goods at the market in Slovakia and imported it for her own needs.
In accordance with applicable law, importation of the found bulbs in any amount is not allowed.
Thus, the citizen of Ukraine violated the established order of customs control in areas (corridors) of the simplified customs control. Officers of the Chop Customs draw up a report on violation of customs regulations on the grounds of an offense under Art. 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
- In accordance with Art. 511 of the Customs Code Ukraine, under the report on violation of customs regulations, the direct items of the offense in an amount of 700 kg were temporarily seized. The value of the seized tulip bulbs is about 138,000 UAH, - the customs officers said.
