Chop border guards warn against violations checkpoints

To improve awareness of citizens crossing the state border of Ukraine and prevent violations at checkpoints, border guards of the Chop detachment ask travelers to pay attention to the following:

1. According to the Law of Ukraine "On Border Control", the regime at checkpoints across the state border is the order of stay and movement of all persons and vehicles within the territory of border railway and road stations, sea and river ports, airports and aerodromes open to international traffic and to other activities related to crossing state borders by persons, vehicles and goods, which is set by order of the Chief of State Border approved by the head of the customs office and the head of the company, where the state border crossing point is located;

2. The Law of Ukraine "On protection of rights and freedoms of citizens and legal regime in the the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine" amends a number of legal documents, including those relating to legal liability for violations of the regime at checkpoints on the state border of Ukraine.  Thus, Art. 202 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences (CAO) states as follows: "Violation of the border regime, the regime of checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine or regime rules in the ports of entry – exit shall be punishable by a fine of 7 to 10 tax-free minimum incomes on citizens, and 10 to 20 tax-free minimum incomes – on officials."That, there is no more such penalty as "warning" for violations of the regime at checkpoints on the state border of Ukraine, and the minimum amount of fine was increased from 17 to 119 UAH. In case of failure to pay a fine within the time specified by the law, the State Bailiff’s Service shall charge the fine in double.
