A two-day art fair of the ocaasion of the Day of Artist will be held in Uzhgorod

In Uzhgorod Press Club, there was a meeting on the occasion of the Day of Artist and the charity exhibition and fair, the auction "Artists of Transcarpathia to the defenders of the Fatherland" to be held in Uzhgorod.

Boris Kuzma, the head of the regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Honored Artist of Ukraine, said that every year, on the second Sunday of October, the regional exhibition takes place in Uzhgorod, which features works by artists of regional and other unions and non-professional artists. After that, candidates for the Regional Prize of Y.Bokshay and A. Erdelyi are nominated.  

According to Boris Kuzma, artists would also like to help the military with their creative work. Therefore, half of the proceeds from the art fair will be transferred for the needs of the Transcarpathian battalion.

Yuriy Hleba, the Head of the Culture Department of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Honored Worker of Culture, said that the Department of Culture supported the idea to hold such an event. "We decided to split the events: the 9th of October (opening at 12.00 in the Art Museum) will be dedicated to the exhibition activities - there will be three exhibitions in different rooms: the Art Museum, the "Uzhgorod" gallery and the Ethnographic Museum - Yuriy Hleba says. - On October 10-11, the charity fair will be held. Artistic groups of Uzhgorod will also work for visitors of the charity fair. The information on the amount collected will be announced immediately at the end of the fair."  

Francisk Erfan, the Director of the Regional Art Museum named after Y.Bokshay said that this year, the theme of the regional art exhibition is the usual autumn, but it is called "Transcarpathian artists to the defenders of the Fatherland." "The current events make changes," - the director of the museum said.
