37 illegal immigrants were detained by border guards of Ukraine and Slovakia

Tonight, through joint efforts of border guard agencies of Ukraine and Slovakia, a large number of illegal migrants, including children, were detained on the border.

Unknown persons near the border were detected by technical monitoring means. Immediately, the information about offenders was brought to all border units of both countries. During the operational activities, border guards of Ukraine and Slovakia detained in total 37 illegal migrants. The group of "travelers", who were detained by border guards of the Chop detachment, consisted of 5 men, 5 women and 7 children aged 3 to 8 years. Another 20 natives of the Southeast Asia were detained right at the border by border guards of Slovakia. Currently, the checks are being conducted and circumstances of the offense are being investigated.

It is worth noting that recently, the organizers of illegal migrant smuggling have been trying to intensify their activities. In doing that, they do not take into account the onset of cold season and the fact that there are children among illegal migrants. Often, illegal trips can end tragically for children. In Transcarpathia, there have been several cases when children died from cold during dangerous journeys - the press service of the Chop border guard detachment informed.
