The new project for distribution of the PSAs was discussed in Uzhgorod
In the Uzhhorod Press Club, there was a press conference of the initiators of a new project for distribution of social advertising, which will soon start in Uzhgorod. The first wave of social advertising will be devoted to women's health (prevention of cancer, prevention of abortion) and human relations in the family - the prevention of domestic violence. Ivan Treschak, MD, gynecologist, Andriy Pilyuhin, operator of outdoor advertising and Yaroslav Shafar told more about the initiative and its implementation.
Ivan Treschak, MD, gynecologist said that early detection of malignant diseases of women organs and breast area is now a very topical issue of women's health. According to the doctor, it is extremely difficult to change the attitude of women towards their health because of lack of faith in themselves and the medicine. He said that the idea of informing women (using outdoor advertising) about the importance of cancer prevention had sprung up last year, but the events in the country had slightly changed the priorities. This autumn, they returned to the project. Soon 5 large billboards and several city-lights calling for women to take care of their health will be installed in Uzhgorod. "I hope that this will not be a one-time event, but a systematic campaign, - Ivan Treschak says. - "We will be able to draw women's attention to themselves and this project will help save many lives."
Yaroslav Shafar added that such a social initiative is just the beginning of the project. According to Yaroslav Shafar, a whole cycle of PSAs is planned: prevention of cancer is one of the first topics; after that, there will be the wave of advertising on the prevention of abortion, after that, on prevention of domestic violence. Operators of outdoor advertising provide free space and help with the project.
Andriy Pilyuhin, Uzhgorod outdoor advertising operator says that the Association of Outdoor Advertising in Uzhgorod has reached consensus with local authorities and hopes for fruitful cooperation.
Billboards dedicated to the health of women will be placed both in the center and on the outskirts of the city.
