The fact of illegal mining of sand and gravel mixtures will be considered in court

Tyachiv district prosecutor's office sent to court the criminal proceedings initiated into the illegal mining of sand and gravel mixtures

The prosecutors of Tyachiv district, during October - November this year, completed the preliminary investigation and forwarded to court indictments in two criminal proceedings on the grounds of Part 2 of Art. 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine into the illegal mining of mineral resources of national importance (sand and gravel mixtures), both with guilt recognition agreements concluded between prosecutors and suspects.

According to the deputy prosecutor of Tyachiv district Victor Lastovychak, currently Tyachiv district court has already approved one of the agreements imposed on the accused the agreed sentence of a fine in amount of 7,140 UAH to be paid to the budget.

Also, due to measures taken by the district prosecutor's office, on both of those criminal proceedings, the damage caused to the public interest in amount of almost 25,000 UAH has been fully recovered.

To note:

Part 2 of Art. 240 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the rules of use of subsoil, where it leads to danger to life, health or the environment and illegal mining of mineral resources of national importance - shall be punishable by a fine of four hundred to seven hundred times the tax-free minimum income, or restriction of liberty for up to three years, or imprisonment for the same term.
