It took several weeks for experts of Uzhgorod department of expertise and research to identify various products that smugglers tried to import to Ukraine under the guise of building materials.

As reported earlier, a truck with "consumer goods" and "PVC profile" from Hungary arrived to the customs post "Tisa" of the Chop Customs. A Ukrainian was transporting the goods to one of Chernivtsi firms. However, when weighing, the significant discrepancies in weight were found, which was the grounds for in-depth customs inspection in the box with unloading, re-count, identification, recording of the product involving experts, as required by Art. 327 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Customs officers found out that instead of the declared goods "PVC profile", 432 items of various consumer goods were transported in the truck. Those included: mobile phones Lenovo, Apple (Iphone 6), HTC, Sony in total amount of 2327 pcs., branded clothes and shoes - more than 11,000 pcs., medicines - 16,600 pcs., condoms - 16,800 pcs., straw hats for dolls - 21,600 pcs., pregnancy tests - about 41,000 pcs., transistors - more than 71,700 pcs., as well as resistors, capacitors, chips, auto parts, consumer electronics, watches, lamps and so on.
