Japan is ready to invest in energy efficiency projects in Transcarpathia

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Shigeki Sumi has come to Transcarpathia on a working visit. Today he met with the head of the regional state administrations Vasyl Hubal and the Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko.

The Ambassador of Japan has been working in Ukraine for only a few weeks. And this is his first trip to the regions of our country. The diplomat said that Japanese investors work successfully here, therefore their experience is very interesting for him to further attract investments.

The diplomat said that Japan fully supports Ukraine in this difficult time in various ways, including financial. Thus, last week, the government of the country decided to allocate six million dollars to help rebuild infrastructure in Eastern Ukraine. Also Shigeki Sumi said that Japan is interested in new investments to the economy of Transcarpathia, in particular because of previous positive experiences.

Vasyl Hubal first thanked the Ambassador for visiting our region. He also expressed appreciation for Japan's support for our country in this difficult time. "We are ready to cooperate in the fields of economy and culture. And we are interested in investments into our region. On our part, we guarantee transparency and openness, no red tape. In addition, we plan to open at the regional administration and the regional council the "Club of Investors" to facilitate investors. This organization will engage managers, diplomats and potential investors. And it will facilitate foreign business representatives who plan to invest to the economy of Transcarpathia", - the head of the region said.

Volodymyr Chubirko believes that the level of cooperation between Transcarpathia and Japan can be further improved through cooperation in the humanitarian sphere and the sphere of public administration.

The regional officials also offered the diplomat to establish cooperation in the field of energy efficiency.  In response to that, the diplomat assured in his full support. "Our country focuses very much attention on this issue.  It is one of the most important tasks for the population. We are willing to share experiences, to invest. We invite a delegation of Transcarpathia to our country to study our technology in this area" - Shigeki Sumi suggested.

Finally, the diplomat said that the next time he plans to visit Transcarpathia in spring, when sakura blossom in the region.
