In Uzhgorod, there will be a workshop for journalists (Announcement)

Training for journalists on "Ukraine: Hate speech in wartime" will be held by Maksim Butkevych on November 24, at 14.00, at the premises of the CO "Medical Aid Committee in Transcarpathia" (Koryatovich st., 2/10) within the XI Travelling International Documentary Film Festival on Human Rights Docudays UA in Uzhgorod.

Hate speech in the media: how does it change in wartime? What layers of "public subconscious" spill onto pages and screens? Where is the line between journalism and propaganda - and does it exist at all? And - what to do to not allow "fog of war" to mist our eyes? "Ours" and "others", journalism and propaganda, refugees and IDPs - these and some other issues will be discussed during the seminar "Ukraine: Hate speech in time of war" that will be held by a journalist, co-coordinator of the project "Without Borders", coordinator of the Resource Center to help IDPs Maksim Butkevych.

Maksim Butkevych will also be the moderator during the screenings and discussions of films within the XI Travelling International Documentary Film Festival on Human Rights Docudays UA in Uzhgorod on 21-30 of November, 2014

We invite all interested journalists. The admission is free.
