Hospitalization will not save from liability

In the context of the situation regarding the tragic accident in Uzhgorod district where a drunk woman driving a car "Toyota Corolla" crashed into a traffic police car escorting the procession, Zakarpattya online have received comments of the director of the Transcarpathian Regional Clinical Center of Neurosurgery and Neurology Volodymyr Khimich.

"Indeed, Natalia Balazs was hospitalized in the Regional Center of Neurosurgery and Neurology with a diagnosis of "concussion, whiplash injury." Also, her blood sample was taken for alcohol content test.

The specified type of injury is classified as mild traumatic brain injury and only leads to short-term health problems. According to standards and protocols of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, concussion requires hospitalization for several days to a week, followed by outpatient treatment for up to 21 days.
The patient was admitted and is now in the Center under the supervision of law enforcement officers. This injury does not exempt from possible liability and does not affect the course of the investigation. Determination of signs of the offense and the degree of fault is the task of law enforcement agencies," - V.Himich said.

Recall, the accident involving the hospitalized woman caused the death of 2 and injuries to several more persons, and the information on hospitalization of the suspect was taken by a people's deputy of Ukraine under personal control.
