Uzhgorod will not elect the mayor on May 25

The Parliament yesterday voted for calling the elections of city mayors in 10 cities, not including Uzhgorod.

Elections will be held simultaneously with the presidential election on May 25.

Thus, in late May, residents of the following cities will be electing their mayors: Sumy, Vasylkiv (Kyiv region), Pryluky (Chernihiv region), Antratsit (Luhansk region), Zhovti Vody (Dnipropetrovsk region), Romny (Sumy region), Ladyzhin (Vinnytsia region), Bobrinets (Kirovohrad region), Baturin (Chernihiv region), Korsun-Shevchenkivsky (Cherkasy region).

As explained by the head of the relvant committee, David Zhvania, March 25 is the last day when they could have appointed local elections, so that the CEC had time to appoint them on May 25 – the Ukrainska Pravda reported.

So, it seems, in the regional capital of Transcarpathia, mayoral election will not be held concurrently with the presidential one. It is currently unknown when Uzhgorod will elect its mayor.
