Transcarpathia receives the Hungarian delegation

On Wednesday, March 19, the head of the RSA Valeriy Lunchenko met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Zsolt Neymet. The meeting was also attended by the deputy chairman of the regional council Andriy Serbaylo, the Assistant Secretary of State for National Policy of the Ministry of Public Administration and Justice Zsuzsanna Reypashi, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Ukraine Mihaly Bayer, and other distinguished guests.
         During the international meeting, they discussed issues of bilateral relations between the countries. In particular, Valeriy Lunchenko said that Ukraine highly appreciates the support provided by Hungary in recent months, during the establishment of democracy in Ukraine.

- We hope to further fruitful cooperation in the process of European integration of Ukraine. Hungary is a very important partner, we will do everything possible to strengthen the political, social, economic and cultural ties between the two countries - Valeriy Lunchenko said.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Zsolt Neymet in turn noted that Hungary supported the sovereignty and national unity of Ukraine, did not recognize the results of the referendum held on March 16 in the Crimea, supported and recognized the legitimacy of the new government.

- The events of recent weeks will help to accelerate the European integration of Ukraine. Transcarpathia as the most western region plays an important role. In particular, in the establishment of the checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border - Zsolt Neymet said.

Also, during the meeting, they discussed the results of the cooperation between Hungary and Transcarpathian region under the Eastern Partnership Program (the first stage) and possible directions for future work, the construction of the bypass road around the city of Beregovo, cross-border cooperation, etc.
