The sickest Transcarpathians are in Uzhgorod
As the head of the epidemic monitoring and sanitary protection department of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service in Transcarpathian region Victoria Dyordyai informed, during the 13th calendar week of 2014, 3030 people turned to health care institutions of the region about the ARVI and influenza, which is 667 cases less compared to the previous week of the year. Among the diseased, 2038 (67.3%) are children under 17 years of age. 6.4% of the total of cases (193 persons) were hospitalized, including 143 (74.1%) children.
The incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections among the population of the region is 24.1 per 10 thousand people, which is 38.8% below the epidemic threshold. The highest rates of influenza and ARVI are recorded in Uzhgorod (63.8 per 10 thousand people), the lowest - in Tyachiv region (4.9 per 10 thousand people).
