How the new police chief was secretly presented in Uzhgorod

Yesterday, in Uzhgorod, without announcement and information for journalists, at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Office in Transcarpathian region, they presented the new chief of the regional police.

According to the PR Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, the new police chief was presented by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mykola Velykovych and the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Valeriy Lunchenko.

The presentation was also attended by new the head of the regional Security Service of Ukraine Office Victor Lyubenkov.

Introducing Colonel Sharanych, Mykola Velykovych said that after the recent bloody events on the Maidan in Kyiv, the police authority has decreased dramatically.

He said that Transcarpathia was a difficult region in political and criminal terms, the proximity to borders gives rise to smuggling, so the revenues to the state budget depends on the work of the police, especially such services as OCD.Another issue that needs immediate resolution is a corruption that under the old government was corroding the state from within and has become a challenge for society. It can be eradicated only by joint efforts of law enforcement and the public.

The head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Valeriy Lunchenko, introducing the new chief of the police, Colonel Sharanych described him as a true professional and a decent person and expressed confidence that the police under his leadership would cut crime and stand firmly in defense of law and order.

Serhiy Sharanych thanked the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the region for their confidence and promised to honestly and professionally perform all his tasks.

Meanwhile, there are complaints regarding the appointment: Sharanych's candidacy was not agreed either with the public or with the regional council.
