Environmental campaign to protect primroses has been launched

With the onset of the first sunny days, first spring flowers appear in the forests. Each of us should care about protection of endangered species of flora. Without the help of residents, all efforts for the protection of primroses will be in vain. After all, if there is demand for spring flowers, the devastation of wildlife areas where they grow, will continue in the future.

Most of these plants become objects of mass picking and selling that sometimes leads to their extinction. Mass picking of primroses undermines their number.

Every year in spring, law enforcement officers of the transport police launch operation "Primrose", aimed at the prevention and suppression of offenses related to illegal collection, sales and transportation of rare plants listed in the Red Book of Ukraine.

Transportation law enforcement officials urge citizens:

- Do not collect nor sell first spring flowers - primroses, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine which are on the verge of extinction;

- Persons who do so will bear responsibility for violations of environmental laws;

- Do not buy primroses, show awareness and love of nature;

- Report to forestries, law enforcement bodies about facts of collection, transportation and sale of primroses;

Remember, selling spring plants collected in nature is illegal.

If you want to buy a bunch of flowers, remember that this leads to mass destruction of forests. Many primroses are already listed in the Red Book.Be aware that buying these flowers, you provoke even more massive collection of them in the coming years. We ask you: give up this little pleasure, help us save endangered plants.

Do not buy them! Thus you will encourage collectors.

Remember, if there is no demand - there will be no offer!
