A former assistant judge was denied the right to occupy positions because of bribery

The judgment of Perechyn District Court in Transcarpathian region against the now former assistant judge of Uzhgorod city district court, who demanded and received from a local resident 5000 USD of undue advantage, has entered into court.

In return for the money, the court employee promised to assist in obtaining a court decision in favor of the local resident about the return of his car, seized by customs officers for violation of customs regulations.

In September 2013 in Uzhgorod, the woman agreed to hand the local resident a copy of the favorable court decision. Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region detained the assistant judge while she was receiving from the citizen the second portion of the undue advantage - 4 thousand dollars.

Perechyn District Court found the citizen of Ukraine guilty of an offense under Part 2 Art.369-2 (trading in influence) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced her to deprivation of the right to occupy positions in law enforcement and judicial authorities for a period of 1 year and ordered the defendant to pay a fine in the amount of 17,000 UAH.
