Uzhgorod prosecutors provide adequate access to public information for citizens
Access to public information ensures transparency and openness, especially in the challenging conditions of today. In this regard, the Prosecutor's Office of Uzhgorod reminds citizens the rules for the submission of appropriate requests. The prosecutor of Uzhgorod Prosecution Office Anton Yuzefiv, who is responsible for this area of work, explains: "In accordance with Art. 19 Law of Ukraine "On Access to Public Information", a request for information may be submitted to the prosecutor both orally and in writing. Then, the answer shall be given to the applicant within five days after the receipt of the request to the prosecutor. Since the beginning of 2014, the Prosecutor's Office of Uzhgorod has received 15 such requests. The prosecutors responded to each of them within the prescribed statutory period - five days. Mostly applicants apply for representing the interests of citizens in court: in particular, the abolition of certain decisions of the City Council in the court and filing of appropriate writs" - the prosecutor says.
