The set of preventive measures "Bus - 2014" was lainched in Transcarpathia

This issue is particularly relevant during the season of summer vacations and tours.

The activities will last from May 20 to June 20. First of all, the preventive operation is aimed at improving safety in the transportation of passengers, enforcing compliance with laws by carriers. The traffic police will focus primarily on occasional passenger transportation.

Traffic police officers, together with representatives of the Ukrtransinspectorate will be checking for licenses for passenger transportation by buses, technical readiness of buses, vans and other relevant transport for operation in the summer.

They will also be monitoring the compliance with work and rest schedule by drivers, undergoing of the compulsory medical examination before peforming the transportation.

"First of all, the traffic police will be paying attention to the vehicles, which transport organized groups of children to places of summer vacation, and of course, other passenger vehicles. During the season of vacations and tours, the volume of passenger transportation increases, accordingly, our service pays more attention to them. Our main goal is to ensure safe traffic on the roads of Transcarpathian region. Carriers in turn, should also take care of it," - the head of the traffic police in Transcarpathia Mykhailo Boychuk said.

Traffic inspectors will be watching for drivers of passenger vehicles not to exceed the speed limit, to adhere to the rules of railway crossing, overtaking, stopping and parking requirements and other rules of the road.
