The international petanque tournament "Sakura-2014" takes place in Uzhgorod, the Uzhinform reported.
World champions in petanque arrived in Uzhgorod on May 1, to conduct master classes for Ukrainian players.
In the Bozdosh park, they held training courses on basic theoretical, tactical and technical principles of the game under the chairmanship of the President of the World Federation of Petanque Claude Azem.
"From May 1 to May 4, in the alley of the Bozdosh Park, there will be an international petanque tournament "Sakura-2014", and the master class was held as part of the competition.Athletes from Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Belarus, Russia, France, the Netherlands, Morocco, USA, Bulgaria, Estonia have arrived to Uzhgorod. Ukrainian petanque players came from cities of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Uzhgorod. They will compete in three sections: tete-a-tete, doublet and triplet," – the president of the Petanque Federation of Ukraine Petro Hoys commented on the event.
