Every day, four children aged 4 to 13 years were forced to beg at the markets in Tyachiv district of Transcarpathian region. The children were forced to beg by their parents, who, fortunately, were detained by the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime.

This business brought a considerable income for members of the criminal group. According to detainees, children could earn up to 5,000 UAH in a day.

However, this was not enough for the offenders. One of the women decided to sell her child for 2000 dollars.

Searching for a buyer, the mother advertised her child as experienced beggar who could cause pity and cajole money from people.

Right on the street, in broad daylight, she gave a four-year-old child and received money in return. Immediately after the transfer of the money. she was detained by the police.

Currently, unfit parents have been brought to justice for human trafficking and involvement of a child in begging.

The District Court sentenced two members of the criminal group to imprisonment for a term of 1.5 and 4 years, and the third accomplice - to 5 years imprisonment with a deferred sentence for a term of 3 years. In addition, the offenders have been deprived of parental rights.

Currently, the children are taken care of by the state, they live and study at a boarding school.
