The Ministry of Income suggests to maximize control of the alcohol market
The Ministry of income and taxes of Ukraine suggests to maximize control of the alcohol market, in particular, production, sale and use of this product. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of income and taxes of Ukraine Volodymyr Khomenko.
The Ministry suggested to carry out extensive checks on the targeted use of alcohol in the pharmaceutical industry. Also, the Ministry deems it necessary to check the use of alcohol for the production of spirits and ethanol.
According to Volodymyr Khomenko, these actions will minimize the gray market of alcohol and spirits.
He also informed about the restoration of tax posts at distilleries.
He reminded that the first stage of the operation "Excise-2014", which ended on May 15, 2014, showed positive dynamics in reducing gray alcohol market.
"By reducing the gray market, we have achieved the indicative figures on the receipt of the excise tax for April at the level of 107.3 percent (about 2 billion hryvnia). In April, enterprises of alcoholic beverage industry alone paid to the budget 207.8 million hryvnias of excise tax more than that in March of this year", - Volodymyr Khomenko said.
