The discharge is delayed

Traditionally, the celebrations to mark the discharge of the military personnel, who have completed their service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have been taken place in April-May. Last year, in spring and autumn, 12,5 thousand people were drafted to Ukrainian Armed Forces. But, amid the inappropriate actions of Russia, which led to the annexation of the Crimea and separatist unrest in the East, a number of our servicemen are now outside of the permanent stationing points. And, accordingly, the conditions for discharge of regular soldiers from military service are likely to be revised by the defense department.

As the head of the department for recruitment - the Deputy Transcarpathian Regional Military Commissioner Major Yuriy Velychkanych reported to Novyny Zakarpattya, currently army units are governed by Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine "On mobilization preparation and mobilization" and Article 1 of the Law "On Defence of Ukraine."

- Currently, 620 Transcarpathians are doing active military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But the thing is that since the announcement of the partial mobilization, the conditions of the special period have been applied. The Regulations of the military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 1153/2008, stipulate that in the event of a special period all soldiers, who are currently doing military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, shall not be discharged, except for military women with children under the age of 16 years (they are allowed to continue service only on their own accord).
