The chief of Transcarpathian police thanked civic activists for elections (+ VIDEO)

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region issued a statement of the acting police chief of Transcarpathia Serhiy Sharanych.

Recall that the preparation for the election was the formal reason for Sharanych to ignore the meeting with people at the public hearing in the open competition for the post of the chief of Transcarpathian police (therefore the community supported Yuriy Rakhivsky). And here is the statement itself.

"Dear friends, dear Transcarpathians! Congratulations! Apparently, we have the President of Ukraine in the first round. Together, we are waiting for the official results.

As for the police, I am sincerely grateful to all law enforcement officers who have spent those three days at the polls and have been ensuring adequate protection of ballots, facilities and security of citizens.

On behalf of our entire team, I want to thank civic activists who helped the police in ensuring public order. Special thanks to the people: ordinary, sincere, and kind Ukrainians who reacted very favorably to law enforcement officers in most remote mountain settlements.

We are one people, we live in one Ukraine. We shall overcome all difficulties and together build a beautiful, European country.

Regarding the violations during the elections, there were virtually none of them in Transcarpathia. Yes, there have been reports of campaign materials, which were not removed from the streets in time, in accordance with the law. We are still receiving such reports. In total, there were 16 reports from all over the region. However, these violations did not directly impact on the electoral process, as in general every Transcarpathian was able to vote at a convenient time without impediment.

It should be noted that there were no obvious signs of bribery in this election.      In contrast to the previous election, there were no calls to the police about other methods of criminal fraud.

In any case, we registered all reports, did not ignore them as before. The police is with the people, they hear people and respond according to the law.

Overall, our Transcarpathia again proved its Europeanness and tolerance of our way of life. And I am very proud that we are such responsible citizens.

 Glory to Ukraine!

Sincerely, the Acting Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region Serhiy SHARANYCH."
