No celebrations on May 9: in Uzhgorod, they suggest to cancel events

Due to the difficult political situation in the country and in order to prevent provocations, Uzhgorod city government cancels all public events scheduled for May 9. According to the Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Shchadey, recent events have confirmed the information that anti-Ukrainian forces intend to use public events to organize provocations.

"We have decided to cancel the planned activities. I also encourage NGOs and political parties to refuse from holding any events on this day. And the police should do whatever is necessary to ensure public order in Uzhgorod and avoid any provocations," - Victor Shchadey said.

Recall that yesterday the head of the RSA Valeriy Lunchenko and the regional council chairman Ivan Baloha also appealed to residents of the region regarding the holiday of May 9.
