The local organization of the "Batkivshchyna" party considers it necessary to report that the appointment of A. Pogorelov as the head of the presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko’s campaign headquarters was made without approval of and consultation with the members of the city party organization. This is stated in the statement distributed by the organization.
Although the presidential candidate at her sole discretion determines persons to represent her and to be responsible for the result of the election in the city, top members of the city organization of the "Batkivshchyna" party do not consider Andriy Pogorelov as a person who can rally the team and attract new supporters for Yulia Tymoshenko. "On the contrary, we believe that the appointment of A. Pogorelov will result in the loss of many voters who traditionally support Yulia Tymoshenko" – the statement says.
All organizational issues, that needed to have been implemented by this time, were resolved and there were no objective reasons for replacing the campaign manager in Uzhgorod. Uzhgorod city organization of the "Batkivshchyna" party encourages all of its activists and supporters to continue actively participating in the campaign and attracting new supporters of Yulia Tymoshenko, and we reserve the right to give a critical and objective assessment of the actions of all persons involved in the electoral process, after its completion.
Recall that recently citizens of the region have been actively discussing the appointment of Andriy Pogorelov as the head of Uzhgorod campaign headquarters of the presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko.
