An international conference to the Europe Day was held in UzhNU

On Monday, May 12, in the hall of the Academic Council of Uzhgorod National University, to celebrate the Europe Day, there was an international conference entitled "No alternatives? European Ukraine, European Region, European University."

The deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Andriy Serbaylo, the management and faculty of Uzhgorod National University, representatives of diplomatic missions and guests from the University of Bratislava (Slovakia) took part in the round table.

Representatives of Slovak and Hungarian diplomatic offices focused on initiating a broad public debate on the content and substance of European values ​​and European standards of social life. They want to promote in Transcarpathia the best European practices in the social, humanitarian, political, economic and other spheres. They emphasized on the pressing need of Europeanization and European integration of Ukraine, raising awareness among Ukrainian youth and the whole society as to the form and content of the European integration processes. Also they assured officials and the university in promoting the consolidation of pro-European forces in Ukraine.

Other participants and guests of the conference discussed the need to develop specific ways, measures and reforms aimed at introducing European standards of social life in Ukraine. They plan to engage students in the European integration process and to promote their intellectual potential.

During the event, there was a solemn ceremonial signing of agreements and declarations on international cooperation between UzhNU and Slovak universities.
