"Big digging" continues in Uzhgorod – the "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" JSC is carrying out technical re-equipment of power supply cable line to Nezalezhnist Embankment – Teatralna Sq. – Kyivska Embankment.
Because of that, trenches were dug across the center, since the length of the cable to be laid exceeds one kilometer.
The contractors asked to extend the permit for earthworks from 4 to 23 of July, and undertake to restore the pavement by 28 of July. This is considered at the meeting of the executive committee.
As they reported at the executive committee, during the works, they not only excavated embankments, but also damaged the sewer. Also the works were halted due to the absence of cable – it is expected on Monday.
As the chairman of the executive committee Victor Shchadey said, the most important thing is timely and accurate restoration of the pavement after excavations, because it is the city center.
The draft decision provoked a lively discussion with complaints about "Zakarpattyaoblenergo" because they cannot complete the works in time. Members of the executive committee suggest fining the company.
However, the city must extend the permission because the work must be completed.
As the head of the municipal service Oleksandr Kostenchuk said, if the company keeps failing to meet the deadline, the municipal police will fine it.
The executive committee decided to control it.
