Mayors of Uzhgorod Popovych and Landovsky offered to help the city
Yesterday, June 17, there was the meeting of the Acting Mayor Victor Shchadey with representatives of the Council of Elders, former heads of the city Emil Popovych and Emil Landovsky. Together, they discussed the situation in Uzhgorod and bottlenecks of the city.
Former mayors of Uzhgorod advised on what requires more attention and best ways to resolve certain issues. They agreed to meet more frequently to jointly monitor the situation with the improvement of Uzhgorod, advise and give instructions to city services to address the problems.
Particular attention was paid to projects that are of strategic importance for the city and that were formed last year at the Council of Elders of Uzhgorod. It is about 5 infrastructural problems of the city: completing the construction of the bypass road around Uzhgorod, renovation and restoration of the historic center, delineation of Uzhgorod and update of its Master Plan, reconstruction and arrangement of squares, and the development, approval and implementation of the project of raising the water level in the Uzh river in the city.
All agreed that those are strategically important objects. However, these problems cannot be fundamentally solved in a few months - these tasks require more time. However, they agreed that the preparatory work should begin now and that a framework for the implementation of these projects should be created.
