Fountains and strret lights in Uzhgorod are funded by philanthropists - the Deputy Mayor
In Uzhgorod, fountains and some street lights are entirely funded by charitable organizations. This was announced today, June 11, during the meeting of the Executive Committee of Uzhgorod City Council by the deputy mayor Yaroslav Shafar - the Zaholovok.com.ua informed.
"Shumna street will be illuminated for the funds of a charitable organization, fountains in Uzhgorod work for the funds of benefactors and were built also for their money," - Mr. Shafar said.
As reported, no one wants to work with Uzhgorod City Council on credit. According to the Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod Victor Shchadey, for the past few months, the mayor's office has been working with companies, that are engaged in the beautification of the city, on credit. And now the authorities are facing difficulties: there are funds on the account of the City Council, however, there is a problem with their transfer from the State Treasury.
"We ask to work on credit. Those firms, that were working on roads, have exhausted their internal resources. The funds are not transferred. For 2 months, roads have been our top priority. We have now 48 million, and will receive some more. The money is there, but they won't give it to us" - Victor Shchadey said.
