A “quartet” of illegal immigrants from Asia was detained by Chop border guards

Yesterday, border guards of the Chop detachment detained another group of immigrants who were going to the EU bypassing checkpoints.

Officers of the "Knyahynya" unit, that guard the border in Velyky Berezny district, received the information on a group of unknown people moving towards the border in advance. As a result of the measures taken, they found and arrested a group of 4 unidentified men. Three of the offenders, who had no documents, identified themselves as citizens of Sri Lanka, another said that he came from India. Representatives of Sri Lanka told border guards that they were set out to get to Western Europe, and their "colleague" from India wanted to settle in Austria.

The offenders were taken to the station for identification, establishment of the circumstances of the offense and drafting administrative and procedural documents. Their further fate and responsibility under the law will be determined by the court.
