July 14, officers of the Security Service of Ukriane caught and arrested one of the officers of Uzhgorod city police, who had received a bribe of one thousand dollars.
The police major extorted money from a local resident for releasing him from criminal liability for fraud (Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The Security Service of Ukraine detained the law enforcement officers in the restaurant of a hotel in Uzhgorod while he was receiving the bribe.
Based on the materials of the Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, the prosecution office notified the detainee of suspision under Part 3 of Art.368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of unlawful benefit by an official).
The pretrial investigation continues.
