Over the weekend, border guards of the Chop detachment twice stopped attempts of illegal transportation of tobacco products to the European Community.

In the first case, the cigarettes were found by a border unit at the railway checkpoint "Salovka." During the border control of a train with a bulk cargo of sinter ore, which followed from Ukraine to Hungary, border guards decided to thoroughly check one of 66 cars. As a result, they found 4,000 packs of cigarettes "FEST", which were in cardboard boxes wrapped in polyethylene. The value of cigarettes is currently being established.

In another case, a citizen of Belarus, who was following through the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" to Slovakia by a car "Honda", was caught. The fact is that the man took some cigarettes for the journey and hid them in the design features of his car. However, border guards together with customs officers prevented the illegal actions of the Belarus and found 795 packs of cigarettes "Jin Ling" in two caches - under the rear seats and in the luggage compartment. As a result, the cigarettes and the vehicle was seized according to the law, their value is being established.
