Vartsaba met with protesters

Yesterday, in Uzhgorod, in front of the building of the regional police department, the chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region, major general Vasyl Vartsaba met with a few dozen participants of the rally in support of the Maidan in Kyiv.

The activists asked the chief police officer in Transcarpathia whether Transcarpathian police would be sent to Kyiv, and whether the police would respond to what is happening in Kyiv. They also asked the general to promise that the security forces would not use weapons against Transcarpathians.

General Vasyl Vartsaba assured that all local police special forces are currently in Transcarpathia at the place of deployment. If there is an order to send them to Kyiv, it will be obeyed, the general assured, promising, however, to inform the public of the receipt of the order.
