The most popular countries for immigration are Hungary and the Czech Republic
January 31, in Uzhgorod, at the meeting of the Main Office of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathia, they summarized the results of the regional migration service work in 2013, the press service of the office reported.
In 2013, in Transcarpathia, they issued over 36 thousand passports of a citizen of Ukraine. Almost 55,500 Transcarpathians received passports of a citizen of Ukraine to travel abroad and more than 9,500 travel documents for children.
In addition, last year the migration service of the region took into consideration 265 applications for the citizenship of Ukraine and registered 568 departures for permanent residence in foreign countries. The most popular countries among Transcarpathian emigrants traditionally are Hungary and the Czech Republic.
348 foreigners with temporary residence permits are registered in the State Migration Service. Most of these foreign nationals stay in Transcarpathia due to employment in enterprises of the region and due to a family reunion with a citizen of Ukraine. 238 foreign nationals received permits for permanent residence in Ukraine last year.
