Known physician, deputy of the regional council Smolanka spoke to the audience. He reminded about Vashchuk’s application for leave and said that in the evening, teachers had collected 250 signatures for the resignation of the rector.
In the hall, they suggectsed to call an election. Ivan Baloha said that he had evidence that it was Smolanka who had won in the election of the Rector, but the results had been falsified. Regional Council appealed to the Parliament to dismiss Vashchuk, appoint the acting rector.
Student Yuliya Dub in her speech stressed that the decision on the rector must be made by UzhNU. Smolanka, who asked not to mention his name in the documents, said that first they need the acting rector, and then make the decisions together with the staff and students. The proposal was supported – now the issue of Vashchuk will be decided in Kyiv.
