Pogorelov withdrew from the PR! (Statement)

The mayor’s office reported about the withdrawal of Uzhgorod Mayor Victor Pogorelov from the Party of Regions! 

Here is the text of the official statement: 

"Today, when there is a fratricidal war in our country, innocent people suffer, lives of many families become broken. As a result, Ukraine can be divided and thrown into chaos. The situation must be addressed immediately and by political means, not at the cost of human lives.

I am outraged by what is happening in the country and can not remain in the political force that does not want to find a tolerant consensus. Therefore, I decided to withdraw from the Party of Regions.

I ask politicians, government and opposition to negotiate and stop the confrontation.  I ask the security forces to protect safety of people’s life and health. I appeal to employees of state agencies and institutions of Uzhgorod to withdraw from the ruling party, and the Party of Regions faction in Uzhgorod city council to dissolve.

All Uzhgorod residents, please unite, remain, as always, tolerant to each other in this difficult but important for Ukraine’s future time."
