In Transcarpathia, officials spend more than three million for their PR
Last year, 3,036,000 UAH from local budgets of Transcarpathian region was spent to support controlled media - primarily city and district newspapers, founded by the government. Among district papers in the region, Tyachiv newspaper "Druzhba" received the most - 252,000 UAH. 225,000 UAH from the district budget was spent for the "Visnyk Beregivshchyny". A little less - 220,000 UAH - was spent on district newspapers in Velyky Berezny and Mizhhirya district.
Among the cities of the region, officials spent on PR in the official media the most in Beregovo - the local newspaper in the year of the mayor election, received from the city treasury 190,000 UAH. The Mayor of Uzhgorod, compared with his Beregovo counterpart, was skimpier - the city municipal newspaper "Uzhgorod" received 162,000 UAH. In Mukachevo and Khust, they allocated for the support of media 85,000 UAH and 25,000 UAH respectively.
