Two sisters aged 13 and 15 years left home to travel, but were detained by the police at the station in Mukachevo after their grandmother’s statement.
It was well after midnight, when a 51-year-old resident of the village of Kushnytsya called Irshava district police department. The grandmother reported the disappearance of her two granddaughters aged 13 and 15 years.
The police officers went to the village of Kamyanske, where they found the mother of the missing girls. The woman reported that she raises children alone because her husband lives in Zhytomyr region. The woman suggested that the girls decided to go to their father.
Fortunately, the young fugitives did not have time to get on a train in Mukachevo, because law enforcement officers Vasyl Voloshinovsky and Ivan Vartsaba intercepted them. By morning the girls were returned to the mother.
As the fugitives explained, they really wanted to go to their father to Zhytomyr region, as they had not seen him long and were missing him. By the way, this was not the first such attempt when they were going to go to their father, but they had never managed to run so far away before…
The chief of the department of criminal police for children Police Major Vasyl Voloshinovsky had a prophylactic conversation with the girls and the mother. Also, the mother will be brought to administrative liability under Part 1 of Art.184 of the Administrative Code (failure to perform parenting responsibilities).
