The staff voted and decided that Transcarpathian police should be headed by Major General Vartsaba who recently resigned. The meeting of the police officers took place at the request of the Right Sector. The organization expressed its disagreement with the fact that the new chief of the police in the region had been appointed without the consent of the community and police officers themselves.    Therefore, the Right Sector initiated the meeting at the Office of Transcarpathian police so that officers could decide themselves.

Representatives of the Right Sector appealed to the police officers to make every effort to ensure law and order in the region and restore the authority of law enforcement officials among citizens.
The Head of the Right Sector in Transcarpathian region, Oleksandr Sachko said that activists of the organization would support the candidacy agreed by the staff, and would recommend the Minister to approve it in order to avoid destabilizing the situation in the region.
To prevent outside influence on the decision of the staff, the meeting continued in the absence of the former head of the regional police, as well as representatives of the Right Sector and the media.

The Right Sector stressed that they would agree with any reasoned decision. And that they would not object if the service would again be headed by Vasyl Vartsaba, because during the revolutionary period, he kept order in the region, did not use force and pressure against protesters. A few minutes later the police officers reported that the staff had voted confidence in the former head unanimously. The staff proposed to agree their desicion with the representatives of district and city police departments. Also, they will appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to appoint V.Vartsaba.
