Ukraine reduced gas reserves in storage by 25%

Since the beginning of the heating season 2014/2015, Ukraine has reduced reserves of natural gas in its underground storage facilities (UGS) by 24.5%, or 4.104 billion cubic meters.

According to available data of the "Ukrtransgaz" PJSC, while as of October 20, there were 16.749 billion cubic meters of gas in storage facilities, on December 13, the reserves in underground storage facilities amounted to 12.645 billion cubic meters.

According to the "Ukrtransgaz", on December 13, gas was extracted from underground gas storage facilities in amount of 82.57 million cubic meters per day, on December 12 – 85.52 million cubic meters, on December 11 – 77.80 million cubic meters, on December 10 – 63.31 million cubic meters, on December 9 – 81.79 million cubic meters, on December 8 – 111, 65 million cubic meters, on December 7 – 114.46 million cubic meters, on December 6 – 122.26 million cubic meters, on December 5 – 129.48 million cubic meters per day, on December 4 – 132.53 million cubic meters, on December 3 – 125.12 million cubic meters, on December 2 – 132.67 million cubic meters, on December 1 – 109.74 million cubic meters.

As reported, Ukraine started the heating season of gas extraction from underground storage facilities on October 20, raising on the first day about 10 million cubic meters from the storage facilities.

The reserves of commercial gas in Ukrainian underground storage facilities as of December 31, 2013 amounted to 14.765 billion cubic meters, including that in storage facilities of the "Ukrtransgaz" – 139.52 billion cubic meters, of the "Chornomornaftogaz" – 0.813 billion cubic meters.

As of April 1, 2014, the reserves of natural gas in underground storage facilities of the "Ukrtransgaz" amounted to 7.202 billion cubic meters.
